Bisibele Bath
Prepartion Time: 45 minutes Serves 4
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup Rice
- 1/2 cup Toor daal
- 1 Onion
- 1 Big Tomato
- 1/2 Bell Pepper
- 1 Coyote squash
- 1/4 cup Peas
- 1/2 cup chopped beans
- 1/4 cup chopped carrots
- 3- 4 Tsp Bisibele Bath powder
- 3 Tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar/jaggery
- 1/4 cup Butter
- 1/4 cup grated coconut
Instructions:
- Cook daal in pressure cooker
- Cook rice separately
- In a separate pot heat little bit of butter and add chopped onions
- Saute for 1 min until onions are glossy
- Add Tomatoes and Peas
- Sauté for 3 to 4 minutes and add remaining vegetables
- Sauté for 3 to 4 minutes and then add 1 cup of water and bit of salt
- Let it cook for close to 10 minutes.
- Add cooked daal and Bisibele bath powder
- Simmer it for another 5 mins
- Add cooked rice, grated coconut , remaining butter and couple of glasses of water and boil it for 8 to 10 mins or n low heat.
- Add chopped cilantro and switch off the flame.
- Enjoy with some curd rice or raita!
