Mysorepak - Indian sweet

Mysore Pak

Prepartion Time: 45 minutes Serves 4

Ingredients
  • 1 cup Besan
  • 2 cup Sugar
  • 2 cup Ghee
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder (Optional)
Instructions:
  • Roast Besan in a wide pan until lightly golden for few minutes
  • Set aside Besan. 
  • In a separate bowl, heat Ghee to a low bubble.
  • In a pot add sugar and half glass of water
  • Boil until you get one string consistency (approximately 5 minutes) 
  • Alternate adding Besan and Ghee slowly to the reduced sugar mixture (two to three rounds) until completely combined.
  • Add Elaichi powder
  • Stir continuously until mixture becomes spongy and starts separating from the pan
  • Pour mixture into an 8” x 10” baking pan greased with ghee. 
  • Let it rest for few minutes and, while it is just warm, mark a grid for squares using greased knife 
  • Cool and cut it into pieces to enjoy!
Tips:
  • Keep stirring the besan mixture slowly in very low flame.
