Mysore Pak
Prepartion Time: 45 minutes Serves 4
Ingredients
- 1 cup Besan
- 2 cup Sugar
- 2 cup Ghee
- 1 tsp cardamom powder (Optional)
Instructions:
- Roast Besan in a wide pan until lightly golden for few minutes
- Set aside Besan.
- In a separate bowl, heat Ghee to a low bubble.
- In a pot add sugar and half glass of water
- Boil until you get one string consistency (approximately 5 minutes)
- Alternate adding Besan and Ghee slowly to the reduced sugar mixture (two to three rounds) until completely combined.
- Add Elaichi powder
- Stir continuously until mixture becomes spongy and starts separating from the pan
- Pour mixture into an 8” x 10” baking pan greased with ghee.
- Let it rest for few minutes and, while it is just warm, mark a grid for squares using greased knife
- Cool and cut it into pieces to enjoy!
Tips:
- Keep stirring the besan mixture slowly in very low flame.
