Sakkare Holige

Prepartion Time: 2 hours makes 20 Holige

Ingredients
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2.5 cup sugar
  • 3 cup all purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Rava(optional)
  • 2-3 cup wheat flour dry roasted in Ghee
  • 1-2 tsp Elaichi powder
Instructions:
Hoorna(Inner filling)
  • Bring milk to a boil.
  • When it cools down completely, add sugar
  • Add dry roasted wheat flour to the mixture.
  • Add the flour with loose consistency so that it hardens it after few hours.
  • Add elaichi powder for flavor
Kanka (Outer coating):
  • Mix Rava and all purpose flour and mix with ghee very well.
  • Add water and make it to a smooth dough and add lot of oil to soak it for few hours.
Preparation:
  • Place Hoorna inside kanaka like you make paratha and make holige in very low flame.
  • Make holige in very low flame and handle with care so that holige doesn’t tear.
